The Leander Bed is different from any other cot on the market. It has been designed with the child’s perspective in mind, and the result is a stunning looking cot which converts into a junior bed via stages. The junior bed concept is not new, but the fact that this junior bed looks like a small adult’s bed is new, and the fact that the bed is low to the ground to suit small legs is also unusual.

A growing child's dream

The Leander Bed takes the tradition of Scandinavian craftsmanship and design to a new level of excellence. With its oval shape, in European beech, the cot is a sheer pleasure to the eye. It is easy to assemble and use, and all materials are high quality and safe.

Stig Leander, the designer, says: ”I wanted to create a child’s cot, the Leander Bed, as a natural extension to the idea behind the Leander Cradle. It annoys me that children’s beds are so traditional, not taking the needs of the children into account. That’s why I wanted to combine practicality of use with simple design language. We develop our products with a strong focus on the little one's need for comfort and an understanding of the world seen from the child's perspective."

The Leander Bed transforms from cot to junior bed in 5 stages. For infants, the cot base is positioned at the high setting to protect the parents’ back. It is then dropped down to ensure that the mobile baby is safe. As baby turns into a toddler with greater freedom to move, the first Leander Bed adaptation takes place: one of the cot sides come off. This stage maintains the familiar feeling of security that the high sides give, but the child can now climb in and out by itself. As the child’s development further progresses, the other three sides come off (all together) and the cot is now a small bed. Your child’s growth in height will tell you when to extend the Leander Bed into the junior bed (150cm long). The extension pieces required are part of your initial purchase, so there is no more to buy.

The Leander Bed has received several awards in Europe but designer Stig Leander doesn’t rest on his laurels. He continues to finetune the design and improve the cot where possible as well as working on expanding the range.

LEANDER bED SHEETS

Each sheet pack has 2 fitted sheets in jersey quality in 100% unbleached cotton. Available in cot or junior size. Machine washable at 60° C.

 

Leander Bed Bumper

                    

The Leander Bed Bumper is available in 3 colours: snow, vanilla and sand. It is a modular design to suit the configuration options of the Leander Bed. Covers are removable and washable. Bumper 100% cotton Eco-Tex 100. Filling: 100% polyester Eco-Tex 100.

 

LEANDER TOP MATTRESS:

The top mattress is a quilted protector with a 100% cotton cover and a 50% cotton/50% polyester filling which is placed between mattress and sheet. Although not waterproof it is water absorbent and can be machine washed at 60°C. Available for both cot and junior bed.

 

Leander Bed Mattress

The mattress is a pocket inner spring mattress with Oeko-Tex 100 Class 1 foam and non-toxic glues. The removable cover is 100 % Cotton Oeko-Tex 100 Class 1 with a 50% cotton/50%polyester filling which also meets the Oeko-Tex 100 Class 1 specifications. The cover is washable at 60°C.
